POETS Summer of Code - project course

POETS Summer of Code is a project course that offers students the opportunity to develop software using state-of-the-art technologies for a novel process-oriented event-driven ERP platform.

To put it in more simple terms:

  1. Develop in Haskell, Java, or maybe even a language you design, for Android phones (yes, we have real hardware available) or regular desktop computers,
  2. Get ECTS and
  3. Have lots of fun while doing so.

Concretely, POETS Summer of Code is a project course (coordinated project cluster) where you develop and test software components for a Haskell-based server and Java-based clients, which will be running on Android-based mobile devices. You work in small teams using state-of-the-art programming languages, tools and platforms. The components to be developed are part of a prototype implementation of a 3rd. generation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that will be used in industrial trials in the Fall of 2010.
