DIKU Bits: Motion matching at DADIU: A new paradigm in game animation

Speaker

Abstract

Game animation is changing. The old ways, using state machines, are no longer sufficiently effective and are too hard to maintain.

Motion matching is a new way of doing animation, using data driven approaches and machine learning, to free up resources, resulting in better and more responsive animations in computer games.

At DADIU we work with these new methods in a hands on and close to real life setting. Whether you like game programming, AI, or physical simulation, this might be for you.
