Two postdoc positions in Deep Learning for Remote Sensing Data
We are looking for two postdocs in the field of deep learning applied to remote sensing data at the Department of Computer Science (DIKU) and/or the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN) at the University of Copenhagen. They will have the opportunity to join our team working on remote sensing and machine learning for monitoring, predicting, and simulating changes in ecosystems at large scale. The goal is to improve our knowledge on ecosystem changes to support assessment of land degradation, mitigation of poverty, and climate change management. This requires basic research in machine learning for large-scale spatio-temporal data.
The postdocs’ duties will include research within deep learning and the analysis of remote sensing data as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
Successful candidates must have demostarted their ability to publish in top tier venues in machine learning and/or remote sensing.

The positions will be for 3 years and is open from 1 September 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Terms of employment
The positions are covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
The starting salary is currently up to DKK 437.843 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.871). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
