Commercial opportunities and potentials in the games industry
The global gaming market is growing by approx. 10% p.a. and is expected to exceed DKK 200 billion in 2023. But how can you as a game developer in Denmark become part of this development, and what are the trends that you should keep an eye on as a game developer?

Rokoko x DIKU case: Faster, better, and more intuitive animation tools.
In the collaboration between DIKU and Rokoko, our endeavor is to apply novel ML research to lower the threshold for doing advanced character animation in the creative industries. Traditionally, character animation has been a very time consuming and demanding job for experienced 3D artists, which leaves only the best and the biggest gaming studies with large budgets to excel in lifelike characters in their video games. With the new tools, we are building in the collaboration, aka. ADAM, we want to give artists superpowers (get rid of all the manual and repetitive work). We want to lower the threshold for creating animation based on novel ML tools trained on thousands of animation assets from the world’s largest library of motion capture assets.
Speaker
Matias Søndergaard is Co-founder & Chief Product Officer at Rokoko.com, who are spearheading a paradigm shift in how developers work with human motion data. For decades, digital tools have been counter to the way we naturally work. Rokoko are moving away from a past that constrained creativity, and making a future where the tools are playful and intuitive for everyone.
DADIU connects the competencies for the games industry
DADIU is a unique collaboration between more than 15 universities and art schools established in 2003 that brings competencies together to collaborate for 15 weeks during a semester. The effect is approximately 100 reality ready highly trained candidates every year. The mentors and teachers on the course are all professionals from the Danish and international gaming industry, meaning the students personally meet decision makers and future employers.
Speaker
