DIKU ranks among Top-100 Computer Science Universitites

The Danish electronic newsletter Comon recently published a Top-100 ranking list of Computer Science research institutions worldwide issued by the University of Shanghai, China.
Comon concludes that "The list of computer science research institutions is sad reading from a Danish point of view, because on the list "Academic Ranking of World Universities in Computer " you have to go to a 52nd place to find anything sounding Danish, i.e. The University of Copenhagen. ...

Jakob Krarup awarded the EURO Distinguished Service Medal

The EURO Distinguished Service Medal honours extra-ordinary efforts and is awarded for recognition of distinguished service to the Association of European OR Societies (EURO) and to the profession of OR.
Jakob Krarup, professor emeritus at DIKU and operational researcher, became the first winner of the EURO-2009 medal which was awarded at the opening ceremony of EURO-2009 on July 6th 2009 in Bonn - an arrangement involving 2223 participants and 45 parallel sessions.
