Did you miss the inauguration of CCC?

The center has not yet any physical location, but this is on the agenda. The puzzle will be solved once the next phase of building the new KUA has been accomplished - which means in about a year from this date.
Speed-cases - on research in the interface between communication and IT
Following the introduction talks the audience were diverted with samples of the research carried out by the partners of the centre (Media, Cognition and Dissemination over Center for Language Technology to Computer Science).
In the form of speed cases the close to 100 people of the audience were taught about a number of projects; ranging from a designprojekt, with the aim of motivating children to eat healthy food by four Communication and IT students: Klaudia Kuracka, Michala D. Mensing, Elisabeth Rothmar and Vibe Fogh-Andersen, the patient-system communication platform CITH by Ph D fellow Jonas Moll, machine translation and examples of why linguists and computer scientist should cooperate - by Head of Dept. Bente Maegaard, an introduction to visualisation and interaction design by Professor Kasper Hornbæk, and, finally, the project Netvalue, which based on the girls' game "Go Supermodel" examines a collaboration between the university and the game industry by assistant professor, Anne Mette Thorhauge.

After a short break the grand finale was delivered by coming honorary Doctor at the University of Copenhagen, professor Lars Mathiassen, now living in Georgia, USA, who gave a spellbound audience real life examples of "Telehealth" - i.e. how to get health services nearer to the people living in very sparsely populated areas. Lars Mathiassen was introduced by Pro-Dean for Research at SCIENCE, John Mundy.
Lars Mathiassen told the audience "Emerging Telehealth Stories".
Press photos from the conference will be published on Friday the 18th November.
