Increase in the number of applicants for the Computer Science Study at DIKU

Computer Science Study

With an increase of 2.5% in the number of applicants for the Computer Science study compared to the previous year, DIKU for the third time has received more than 400 applications.

In 2015 the number of applicants for bachelor educations at the University of Copenhagen has decreased slightly by 1.8 % compared to last year. At the Faculty of SCIENCE, the number of applicants has decreased by 3.4 %.

At the Department of Computer Science (DIKU), we are therefore pleased to register an increase - with 411 applicants – of these 181 indicating University of Copenhagen as their first priority.
In 2014 161 students were admitted to the Computer Science study, even if the capacity is only 150. This year's applicants will be notified whether they have been accepted by the University on July 30th 2015. Probably the ceiling of 150 will be slightly enhanced again.
- The coming students generally express a desire to start their education sooner, and they want to be realistic about their educational choices. They will not "waste" applications for programs where they do not have a chance to get accepted and therefore they are very thorough when they examine the different educations and choose their applications, says Pernille Kindtler, Area Manager, Counselling and Admissions at the University Education Services at the University of Copenhagen.
