Former associate professor at DIKU Julia Lawall was nominated for the Red Hat Women in Open Source Award 2016. Julia Lawall is a.o. main contributor to the bug finding software Coccinelle and has contributed to the Linux standard.

Julia Lawall is a senior research scientist at Inria, Paris and has been an open source contributor for 8 years. She is the principal designer and maintainer of the open source program matching and transformation tool Coccinelle, which was mentioned in 1,400+ Linux kernel patches in 2015. The project is now used in the development of many other projects, including Wine, QEMU, and systemd.
