Postdoc in machine learning for personalized medicine

A two-year postdoctoral position is available in machine learning applied to personalized medicine in the group of Professor Anders Krogh. As part of a large EU project we will develop machine learning for analysis clinical (high-throughput) data to support the overall project aim to advance research in personalized medicine. We will develop representation learning and participate in development of federated learning approaches.

We seek a highly motivated postdoc to develop machine learning approaches for analysis of transcriptomic, genomic in combination with other clinical data. The work will also involve general bioinformatics tasks, such as establishing robust pipelines for analysis of raw sequencing data from participating labs. You will be responsible for our deliverables to the project and the interaction and communication with other partners throughout Europe. The post may also include teaching and other duties.

You are expected to

  • Have a PhD in bioinformatics, computer science or a similar field
  • Have knowledge of machine learning
  • Have experience in deep learning and/or in working with DNA sequencing data
  • Have programming experience
  • Have a good understanding of math and statistics
  • Be fluent in English
  • Be responsible, independent, and self-motivated

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 440.935 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 75.399). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
