Movement in Virtual Reality encompasses how we travel through virtual worlds, interact with virtual objects, and learn new skills that may not be possible in real life. In Virtual Reality it is both very difficult to accurately mimic real life, but also possible to create interactions that are completely magical. A compromise can be found where magical elements are perceived as natural to the users, thus increasing their presence and performance. My work investigates how we can make these manipulations of virtual motion be perceived as "natural". This includes walking at 100 kilometers per hour, teaching a virtual avatar how to dance, or navigating non-euclidean spaces. Finally, whenever the virtual motion does not match the physical motion there is a chance of VR sickness, and thus a large part of my work also investigates VR sickness and user experience.
