Vi har inviteret Leif Denby, som er Senior Research Scientist hos DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) til at fortælle om, hvordan man hos DMI arbejder med klima- og vejrmodeller.

Oplæg ved Leif Denby, vejr- og klimaforsker hos DMI: Movements on the frontier of data-driven weather forecastingThe landscape of weather forecasting is changing rapidly with recent advances in purely data-driven weather forecasting machine learning models. I will give an outline of the developments up till now, why deep neural networks are a particularly fitting tool for this work and where I see the developments heading. I will also give a brief insight into developments within the European community and DMI itself. Leif har en M.Sc., M.Phil. og PhD fra University of Cambridge og har studeret Computational Fluid Dynamics på University of Leeds. Leif har desuden studeret scalable high-performance computing samt numerical weather prediction. |
