COPLAS talk: Systems and Programming Languages
Abstract
How consequential is the choice of programming language when designing a new system? Which language is the best one? This talk won't give you a definitive answer, but will equip you with a set of questions to ask to better understand this choice and its consequences. It is grounded in the speaker's experience implementing production compilers and databases in Kotlin, Rust, and Zig.
