Do you have an interest in computer game development and want to gain experience working in a game production team with a diverse range of educational backgrounds? Then come to DIKUBits on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 from 12.15 to 13.00 in Small UP1. This DIKUBits will be dedicated to the DADIU program (Danske Akademi for Digital Interaktiv Underholdning/Danish Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment), a program dedicated to master's students enrolled in Computer Science. Thomas Howalt began his career in games in the 1990s with "Magnus & Myggen," later working with MMOs such as "Anarchy Online" and "Hitman," and is currently teaching at the National Danish Film School on DADIU. He will introduce the DADIU program and go over its structure and components. To give perspective we have invited Sarah Sutton Howell, a student at DIKU and currently on DADIU, to give her an untinted brief of what it is all about seen from the student's point of view. Finally, Kenny Erleben will discuss the career opportunities and academic path that will be available to students who complete this course.
DADIU
The course, DADIU, is given in collaboration with the Danish National Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment and offered to master’s students enrolled in the Computer Science program. During the course, students will be creating their sub-engine parts that will be integrated into the games being produced. Computer Science students are given the role of game programmer, possibly lead programmer and the course is particularly relevant for students wishing to work with computer game creation after their studies.
The course runs in the autumn semester (blocks 1 and 2) and is full-time (30 ECTS). The deadline for signing up is April 1 and students need to sign up at www.dadiu.dk.
