DCR Solutions makes legal texts easy to understand with artificial intelligence

Case

With the help of the Department of Computer Science, DCR Solutions has developed a solution that makes it possible to decode complex legal texts using advanced language algorithms.

DCR Solutions' digital solutions mean that employees no longer have to get bogged down in lengthy legal texts.

Through a course in AI Denmark and in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen, DCR Solutions has optimised their technology to make it easier to understand complicated legal texts. This means that it has become easier for citizens, employees and others who interact with municipal legal texts to both understand and comply with them.

The project was kick-started with a case provided by the Danish Association of Local Authorities, which included forms and process descriptions for processing land zone permits. With input from experienced lawyers in the development process, a language algorithm was created that creates a more intuitive and user-friendly approach to complex legal texts.

Thomas Hildebrandt, Professor of Software Development at the Department of Computer Science, helped develop the advanced language algorithms.

Morten Marquard, founder and CEO of DCR Solutions, is pleased with the collaboration and says:

- It has been a great opportunity and resource for us to collaborate with the Department of Computer Science. Our services are relevant in many places, but the Department of Computer Science thought of us in a context we hadn't even considered.

Through the collaboration, a technology has been developed that is of great benefit to citizens or employees who encounter legal texts in their daily work. And it strengthens DCR Solutions' position as a frontrunner in the digitalisation of heavily regulated industries, where organisations not only save time and costs, but also ensure compliance with laws and regulations at the highest level.
