Pancreatic Cancer Surgery Planning 

This 5-year project targets both the development of machine learning (ML) methodology and the extension of ML towards an urgent clinical challenge. Facebook Artificial Intelligence (AI) believes that adding shape into computer vision will be the next direction of major impact in data science. 

This project will develop methodology for integrating shape models of human organs into ML solutions for medical image analysis. Such integration will open rooms for solving clinical challenges previously unaddressed by ML. In particular, this project will target the problem of diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment outcome modeling for pancreatic cancer.
