My research focuses on interaction design and society by designing interventions on issues of public interest. My research is guided by practice-based design research. My research agenda is developing methods for societal engagement in interaction design. In my PhD thesis, I investigated how interaction design can facilitate democratic forms of participation. My thesis is a methodological contribution for interaction design to enable people concerned about an issue relevant in society to gather together and act on it. Currently, I am investigating how interaction design can facilitate participation in computing. As part of this interest, Pernille Bjørn and I have started FemTech.dk, a research project that tries to open up different perspectives on computing.
